The principal and founder of Ballou Consultants is Douglas R. Ballou. Mr. Ballou was formerly the Manager, Corporate Telecommunications for a Fortune 500 company. His responsibilities were for 120 locations covering the continental United States and Canada. Mr. Ballou was with that company for 12 years and in all, has been in the industry for 30 years. He has excellent technical knowledge of equipment and service offerings, rates and tariffs, traffic engineering, trunking and networking, and contracts. Mr. Ballou is well-regarded as a telecommunications professional in Ohio and Michigan and has been active in the International Communications Association (ICA), the Ohio Centrex Association (OCA), and the Michigan-Ohio Telecommunications Association (MOTA). He is a member of the Advisory Board of the J. Warren McClure School of Communications Management, Ohio University, Athens, Ohio. He serves on the board of the Association of Telecommunications Professionals (ATP) and is currently serving as a member of a number of ATP organizational committees. He is also a member of the Information Technology Committee reporting to the Lancaster Fairfield County Chamber of Commerce. The Committee establishes technical strategies for the city/county and presents them to the Chamber for appropriate action. Mr. Ballou writes a bimonthly regulatory column for ATP and is active in regulatory affairs. He has had a number of articles published (Auerbach, etc.) and has been quoted in such telecommunications journals as Communications Week, Network World, Communications News, etc. Mr. Ballou received his BBA degree (1966) in Marketing from Cleveland State University. Mr. Ballou is based and located at the Ballou Consultants main headquarters in Lancaster, Ohio. |
